My name is Tim, I run a sister site to this one, the Feline Diabetes Message Board (FDMB), which has been supporting diabetic cat owners since 1996. I've seen first-hand how valuable a strong, supportive community can be.
While I'm very comfortable with the technical side of building and running forums/websites, I'm not a CKD expert. There isn't a dedicated, modern, easy-to-use community for feline chronic kidney disease. Caregivers need a place where they can ask questions, share experiences, and get support at any hour. That's why I wanted to create the FKMB.
My hope is that this forum becomes a similar type of resource as the FDMB is - friendly, welcoming, research-based and backed by real-world experience.
